LA GESTION DEL RIESGO EN LA EMPRESA
El riesgo se halla, de forma implícita, asociado a toda actividad, haciendo necesaria la
implementación de una estrategia proactiva en las empresas, que no solo permita la identificación
y la evaluación previa y sistemática de los mismos y sus consecuencias, sino también definir las
acciones a seguir con el fin de evitarlos, transferirlos, asumirlos o implementar medidas de
prevención y protección que permitan reducir la probabilidad de su ocurrencia y/o el impacto de
dichos riesgos.
Una adecuada gestión de riesgos permitirá a las empresas preservar o mantener los activos
materiales, personales e inmateriales, en la posición óptima para la consecución de sus objetivos

La guía "¿Qué hacer en caso de…?" es para que a través de los medios de
comunicación, se expliquen con sencillez las principales medidas en el ámbito
de protección civil.
Estar bien informado implica saber actuar con certeza ante los desastres y
hace posible adquirir con suficiente anticipación el equipo y las provisiones que
pueden ayudarnos a salvar la vida. Para ello, es fundamental conocer las
indicaciones de los responsables del Sistema Nacional de Protección Civil
quienes, en coordinación con las unidades Estatales y Municipales de
Protección Civil, coadyuvan a que los programas operativos de cada entidad
federativa sean oportunos y eficaces.

La población y economía mundial son hoy en día predominantemente urbanas. En América Latina más del 75 por ciento de la población, habita espacios urbanos de diversos tamaños. La concentración de la economía, de la cultura, de la inversión y del poder político es aún más acentuada. La mayoría de las mega-ciudades del mundo están ubicadas en áreas de gran amenaza física, como lo son infinitos números de ciudades de tamaño intermedio y pequeño. En los países en vías de desarrollo estas ciudades están tipificadas por niveles altos y crecientes de vulnerabilidad social, vulnerabilidad que encuentra su expresión también en las ciudades de los países avanzados, como Kobe y Andrew bien ilustraron. Y esta vulnerabilidad no solamente se expresa en términos de los impactos sufridos, sino también en lo débil de los esquemas de respuesta y las dificultades experimentadas en la rehabilitación y la reconstrucción, tanto en países atrasados como los supuestamente avanzados.
